Ive always had a romantic love for the kombi. In 2004, my first love got my husband & I round Australia to every place you never want to leave. Ziggy is my new infatuation...he's got alot of guts, he's good on the inside. ...my next adventure is giving him a minor reno, just the asthetics...shave, cut and colour...as well as a new interior outfit...

The big yellow bus!

Member Since October 2007

Since owning Bella we have expanded our little family to 3. And our little bub Squirt loves sitting in the drivers seat. Bella has a swagman camper, fibreglass conversion, a few bumps and scratches here and there but we both love her (although she needs a bigger bed, chris fits fine but my feet hang over the edge). Currently not on the road as we're fixing her up. She needs some surgery and a few odds and ends.

My car is called the yellow submarine, its my first car and my dream car. It needs some work done but fixing it is half the enjoyment of owning a car like this. My mates digg it and when festival season rocks round its a mint place to be. Its a 73' in need of a paint job! Safe travels everyone.

Iv'e always dreamt of owning a Kombi from the time i got my licence.Im now going 36 and have just realized my dream..To my delight i found Fiona on Ebay at a price to good to be true. The picture's of her where beautiful, i had to have her.She was discribed as not running,a little rust in usual spots. With a little effort i would have a beautiful Kombi. I'll never forget the day we picked her up.To my horror Fiona was full of rust. It turned out the picture's we veiwed on Ebay where 2 years old.. The guy we bought her from insisted that he had quotes of only $3000 for rust repairs so we took his word and brought her home.Fiona is a 73 bay type 2 pop top campervan. We had her seviced and she runs alright. A few years ago she would have been an awesome bus.. We were hoping to have the rust taken out but have been told by a few good body workers to think about how much is she really worth to us, we should think about selling her and maybe get some of our cash back and start again. Iv'e cried a thousand tear for poor Fiona. After getting quotes on rust work for Fi,starting @ $6000 i stumbled across Angus. A 76 bay camper with a big chip on his shoulder, for under $5000.. His on the road and has little rust.. Fiona will now be the dona..

I'm from Tassie and have always loved Kombi's... I found mine late last year and I am really happy with how it is going. It needs some rust cut out and work on the interior but that will slowly happen as funds allow.

I bought my baby in 2005 & I've had the most amazing experiences with her ever since. She's a 1974 mini bus & seats five. The back has been converted into a double bed & that's really handy for the drive in, camping, chillin at music festivals etc. I always say money can't buy happiness but my Kombi (named "Joni") & my two dogs are the best three things I've ever bought. They fill my life with joy every day & put a huge smile on my face ;) My friends all want a kombi too!

Xerxes

Member Since August 2009

HI this is Xerxes the Persian Prince (demand demand...) bought her last year when a friend of mine bought hers and introduced me to the kombi - he/she - not quite sure of the gender yet - is all original inside and in great shape...and after crashing herself (yes thats right no driver...) I crashed her and then someone crashed into me - hopefully we are over doing the damage...working on replacing everything one by one haha one repair always ends up with notice of the next...I love xerxes and love working on him/her - I'm mechanically challenged but aesthetically creative thankfully both my kombiman mechanic and I have a good sense of humour - we've just fixed all the leaks so looking forward to taking my little niece and nephew away for on a kombi trip soon...we can't wait...
