Purchased two kombi's for $1000 and made one good one from two. Extensive body and panel work, seven months later here it is! Interior done by me, paint and panels done by pro's. Old factory alloy wheels make over done by me.

Live&Direc

We got the magnificent Bert, our 2L 1976 Orange Sopru camper in March 2007. Bert has taken us up from Melbourne to Darwin, then around the West Coast, only missing one beat a few hundred Kms out of Geraldton, and blowing 2 tyres. Since then the bus and we have been inland to Byron and back down the coast, sadly missing Eden by only a few days. Now we're mostly taking Bert for surfing trips down the coast, or for picnics in the hills around Melbourne. New cupboards and a set of Sunraysias would be the 'aspirationals'. Otherwise a champion little bus!

Me and Gullenbursti were united 8 years ago and she's been my big beautiful bus ever since. Right now she is sporting a fun paintjob I did on her to bide time before her makeover. Yes, she wants a whole body lift!!! Nevertheless, we've been having lots of fun with her and she's been to heaps of festivals, earth fairs etc. We love being in her 'womb with a view'! She is a very friendly girl and likes to bring lots of smiles out and break the road rage that is rampant on the streets. Sometimes, just for fun, I don giant sunglasses and a 'beetle' skull cap that makes me look like a giant bug behind the wheel, it cheers people up and gives them a laugh. So, if you see us around, give us a tootle or a wave, she's bound to be happy to see you!!!!

I was most likely conceived in a kombi & for all of my childhood my parents had a kombi which they still own to this day! I had a period of time where i was off kombi's but then i thought about the good times had in one and started off the hunt! I picked up a 77 kombi which we call Henri, he was build in Australia for the Army. I then decided that i also wanted a low light so after months of looking i finally found one which i have yet to name! Nothing compares to the feel of driving a Kombi & having the friendly knowing waves of other drivers on the road! We run a computing & audio visual business outside of Sydney and i travel heaps so the restorations on our 2 baby's could take some time!

Ive had Glomo since Sept 2007, I flew to Cairns bought him and headed off home to the lockyer Valley, sadly he didnt make the trip and an engine rebuild quickly happened. Since then weve bonded quite well and Ive been quite busy getting him to reflect his owner, that is, socially acceptable but not 100% run of the mill on the outside but unique and abstract inside.
