Our first kombi was our 76 Camper (Jack) and we've been hooked ever since. And our family has grown since then, moving into a 77 microbus when our twins were born. Unfortunately when our 7th child was born we didn't have the room and sadly had to move onto a 10 seater non-kombi bus. Now that our eldest has moved on, we have been able to get back into the "Kombi club". Now we have a 76 camper (Lucy) and a microbus (name yet to be confirmed - maybe Scooby)! Its good to be back!! :-)

This beauty is a 1978 Ex-Army Microbus. 2 Litre, Auto, Factory Air Cond, Swivel seats. We had a '72 Kombi from new growing up and I've always had a soft spot for them. I actually bought a '69 Fastback earlier this year and as a coincidence my brother bought a '58 splitty. Well, one thing led to another and after going to a few shows and meetings I started thinking that the Kombi was more versatile, a better investment, etc. Hell, I'd say anything to justify it to my wife. The sad thing was selling the fastback but I couldn't afford both. Looking forward to doing some runs withe the KombiKonnection group here in Perth.

Yay!!! After nearly 2 years of waiting to come out of her shell, tinkerbell is ready to roll!!!! i'm sooooo excited, she's my 2nd bus but she's my cutest. i rescued her from a weedy paddock and lovingly (with not much cash) restored her to her pinkness! she's been a hard slog but worth every blood, sweat and lots of tears! inside and out all done with family love!(i think?) anyway we'll be cruisin the sunny coast soon and i'm definately a waver (and a dancer!) i'm gunna enjoy my journey!!! C ya!

I have been a VW person for as long as I can remember. My grandfather had a few and the first car I ever drove was an old beetle around his property. My wife and I drove around Oz in my first Kombi (Wally) a few years ago but when this old truck came on the market I sold Wally to make space.
One day I will restore him and continue to enjoy the adventure of owning and driving old Volkswagens.

Yippee!! My first kombi. She has a long history. Daisy is a copy of a splity Castrol oils used. She has a nice paint job (kinda, but not for long) and a working engine (kinda! She's only running on 3 cylinders!!) which is great, or not. Now enough about the car! I'm based in Adelaide and have lived here all 14 years years of my life. And I know what your thinking right now, "what is a teenager doing with a car!!", but it gives me something to do for the next 2 years! Check out what daisy is up to at: http://daisythekombi.blogspot.com/

My 75 Bay - AKA 'BUBBA'
Member Since June 2008
Bubba is a 1975 Microbus 8 Seater, originally had a 1600 im told, now runs on a stock (for now) 2ltr Dual carb set up. have re-freshed the interior as there wasnt any when I got him, added a neat sound system a Dual Battery setup and a few other gadgets. Plans are to add some nicer wheels, re-paint the bumpers, give the paint job a tidy up where needed and drive him for a bit.......further down the track I plan to re-fresh the engine maybe adding a few hot up options for a little more poke.

After selling my first bay window i've now started a (ment to be quick) part resto on a 1962 splitscreen that i dragged back from Far Nth Qld.
As always it never goes as planned and the bus is still sitting on stands in my garage ( 4 months later).
looking forward to filling it full of boards and family, then hitting the HWY headed south for Byron.
Happy days
