Many moons ago friends and I left Sydney on a holiday. Just barely past Turramurra the car shit itself and we got towed to a girlfriends dads house. He lent us a Kombi. From that day I learnt the joy of the "getting there" being part of the holiday.
I now drive an '82 caravelle which someone has stuck on a '92 front. I love it. I also have a mechanic who is No1 on speed dial. It's all part of the fun.

Have had Bluey for just a couple of months....am in the process of giving her an internal makeover.
I enjoy a beer, a red, good food and good company. Hope to make good use of Bluey in the warmer months...can get pretty cool here in Tassie.

Well we thought it was about time we put up a photo and a bit about our rides. Deb owns the 76 bay and I own the 89 T3. Both get used daily but by far the bay is our favourite.
We have owned various VW's over the years but have always had a soft spot for our bay's.
So if you happen to see either "ben" the bay or "bill" the T3 out on the road give us a wave.

Stumbled across her on a ride, had a look liked what I saw and took her home along with a 1975 Bus. So far have spent 25hours on the exterior cutting rust out and stripping paint. Plan is to be on the road by next christmas!!!!
Runs 1600TP, extractors, and an alternator. Looking at getting a different camper fitout similar to the Sopru set-up. Shoukl all be good fun!!!

Hi we're the "Dancing Doonars" and we have a 73 Bay Kombi Camper called "Kramer". He is in need of some TLC (Tender Loving Cash) and we look forward to his big reveal. We love to drive along the waters edge and daydream about how he will morph from an ugly caterpilliar into a beautiful beach wagon butterfly. We reside in Caboolture Qld, and look forward to one day meeting you all.

Once you own a Kombi I reckon they just get in your blood stream and never leave, this is why I bought with karla, I saw the photo in the for sale section on this site and fell head over heels. I'd had a Kombi over 20 years ago and never got over the sale to the Yank with CASH and everytime an orange camper drove past me I knew I would end up with another Bus. She has had some rust cut out and new sections welded by Paul at East Coast Kombis in West Gosford, he does great work, the guy next to Paul is a Spray painter and did a good job of touching her up including the best paint job ever on the newish rear door. Now i'm putting marine carpet and Tiger Fur in and around the interior, rear only, front will remain close to standard. About me well i live on the Central Coast I commute to Sydney where i work as a Greenkeeper, I have two boys the youngest 15 has just become the proud owner of a 73 kombi, the 17 year old wants to buy my 89 Caravelle he loves the air and power steering.

Last December, while returning to Melbourne from a roadtrip escape to Venus Bay, I realised I needed a Kombi. 10 days later I found a 1977 Blue Pop-Top Camper with a new engine. With only one test drive I knew she was mine!. After living in her for a couple for weeks over the summer Annie has taken me on many adventures and escapes to beaches, mountains and hidden art galleries. With an awesomely comfortable fold-down bed, Annie is the perfect place to fall asleep listening to the waves, or staring out into the ocean or simply playing cards wrapped up in blankets drinking a bottle of red wine. x

Second owners to a 'tomatic' kombi with books. (When she was brought home, I said to my husband that we've never owned a 'tomatic' model.... lol the au had come off!!) Derr to me. I bought my first Kombi off my brother in late 94 and never looked back. This one I bought last week after five years out of the game: it's a 77 Microbus, 2L twin carb and running very well. Paint looks as happy first hand as it does in the photo, and hardly any rust at all - could hardly believe it when I went to inspect before buying, looking at all of the normally rusty spots and finding next to none. Basically I wanted something good enough to drive now with little work and a sound basis for future restoration, I think I found it.
